If the IE is also getting sluggish, or non-responsive -- it is not going to websites you click the links for, it could be the temp folder is overfull that is inside IE program folder. With MLS, there has to be a thousand pictures and that can overfill everything. I'm in Linux right now, or I'd tell you exactly where to go in Windows, IE, temporary.... physically empty the contents of that folder (keep the folder) into the trashcan and then empty the trashcan.
Netscape used to be real bad about that overfull temporary internet files. IE wasn't so bad, but still it can accumulate 3-10meg.

Try Firefox! your IE may be corrupted, you may have a worm in your system, do a scan and switch to Firefox it wont crash...

well it could be what the first guy said but first thing that pop into my head was virus bc that is what happens when i have one everything keeps shutting down. It might be attacthed to your windows. So maybe do a virus scan see if it picks up a virus.

It might be because of a certain site you're looking at. Whenever I go to a code heavy site (certain Myspace/Xanga sites), my internet lags or closes all together because it can't handle all the messed up coding.
