Tubal ligation (informally known as getting one's "tubes tied") is a permanent, but sometimes reversible form of female sterilization, in which the fallopian tubes are severed and sealed, in order to prevent fertilization.
In women, a tubal ligation can be done in many forms, through a vaginal approach, through laparoscopy, a minilaparotomy ("minilap"), or through a regular laparotomy. Also, a distiction is made between postpartum tubal ligation and interval tubal ligation, the latter not being done after a recent delivery. There are a variety of tubal ligation techniques; the most noteworthy are the Pomeroy type that was described by Ralph Pomeroy in 1930, the Falope ring that can easily be applied via laparoscopy, and tubal cauterization done usually via laparoscopy. In addition, a bilateral salpingectomy is effective as a tubal ligation procedure. A tubal ligation can be performed as a secondary procedure when a laparatomy is done, i.e. a cesarean section. Any of these procedures may be sometimes referred to as having one's "tubes tied."

Tubal Ligation is a "Reproductive Surgical Procedure-in Women". It involves either tying, burning, clamping,or totally removing the Fallopian Tubes,to prevent Sperm from reaching an Ovum (egg) during Ovulation; (when an egg is discharged from the Ovary). If an egg can not reach the Womb, then it can not be fertilized by Male Sperm. This procedure prevents pregnancy, but does not stop you from have a "Menstruation Period". The procedure is reversible, but dangerous. It should be done if the person is absolutely positive, that they don't want any more children. (Note) In Indiana,a woman can not have this surgery done,if she's married, unless her husband signs the "Consent Form". If she's single then she must be at least 26 years old,and already has at least 1 child.

A tubal ligation is when the doctor cuts and ties or cauterizes your fallopian tubes so that the eggs released by your ovaries do not reach the uterus and become fertilized, which results in pregnancy.

It's where one tribe sues another. No wait. That's tribal litigation.
Seriously, tubal ligation is where a doctor sews up the fallopian tube so that seed and egg cannot meet.

Tubal Ligation is when they take one of your felopian tubes and burn it and clip it off so that there's no way that the eggs can drop.. Therefore there's no chance of pregnancy.

They tie your fallopian tubes so that you can't get pregnant. Or they burn them so an egg cannot pass through. It is a common procedure. I have had one myself.
