Why does Jan kiss Michael on Valentine's Day after he almost got her fired?

What?!? She thinks he is cute? Michael is a boor, stupid, insensitve, rude and self-centered. I simply don't understand how someone like that would be attractive.

She kissed him because she is attracted to him. She was also planning on staying the night with him in the "Casino," episode last season, but didn't because he told her that he was with Carol.
In this season, Jan has been much harder on Michael. I think that it is because she is mad at him for "dumping" her, so to speak, and also because she is mad at herself for being attracted to him.
The character Michael Scott is not boor or stupid, although I will give you that he can be insensitve, rude and self-centered. I love The Office because there are a lot of layers to the characters on the show. I could not stand Michael in the first season, he was very unlikable had absolutely no redeeming qualities, but in season 2 they started showing another side to him. Michael's deepest fear is lonliness, and he tries entirely too hard to make everyone like him. I love that he looks likes he is screwing everything up, but in the last minute he comes through, and does something great.
Don't be so hard on poor Michael, he is just misunderstood, or maybe he misunderstands everyone else-either way he is my favorite character on the show.
