Well i reckon the seedier aspects of sex are still up there - pedophilia, incest, bestiality etc, but sex generally has shaken off most of its taboo. I think religion is defintely becoming one and being politcally incorrect (heaven forbid) is fast becoming taboo

I think that modern taboos are the same as ancient ones. The 10 Commandments give a good guide to life and should still apply today. Unfortunately many people do not have the time, or inclination, to honour their fathers and mothers, and as for coveting the neighbours wife, today it would be partner, as marriage is on its way out!

I would suggest modern taboo's are things like contemplating mortality (death), incurable diseases (especially AIDS etc), Paedophilia (of course and quite rightly so!), religious differences and intolerance, and finally, Corruption and crime in all their forms.

Not to upset weak minded people.
Can't have any absolutes.
No right and wrong.

Everything has to be accepted.
Being polite.
I'm sure there are more, this is just a start.

Politics and religion. Sex and 'personal lifestyles' are fair game. But when it comes to matters of religion and political preference, the
gates are shut and people close their ears. It seems that few people desire to debate beliefs or religious practices. Go figure...

Infanticide - particularly if a mother murders her own child. Even admitting to disliking your child is tantamount to sacrilege.
