It's not. The U.S. has its fair share of problems: militarism, the dire state of primary and secondary education, and unduly expensive healthcare, to name a few...

Be careful with this question. It is a relative question. Many people have great pride in their own country and hate it when Americans act arrogant.

We often take great pride as Americans professing our greatness and chanting "We're number one"...It is exactly this type of hubris that makes others hate us around the world.

I am proud and happy about the fact that my country allows me to be free and do and achieve whatever I want.

At the same time, I realize that other countries have great strengths, talents, and sources of pride. I am completely loyal to the U.S., But, I appreciate what other countries and cultures have to offer.

It is TOLERANCE that makes us great. And, if we are TOLERANT then we must be humble and accept the fact that others have a lot to offer.

Our tolerance is why we've accepted the weak, the hungry, and the poor of other countries and made them into strong members of society.

In order to be strong, we must be humble.

America is a very nice place to live, but most Americans would also like the life in other countries, which are also very nice. You should visit Canada and Europe before you make such assumptions..

I have studied at DeKALB Comm. I loved the education system. You don't waist time. To wrap up your question: USA people pay religiously their taxes. At underdeveloped countries, or the so called, The Third World, corruption does not let them emerge economically. Politicians only are elected for stealing money.

Well, greatness seems to be in the eye of the beholder. In this case, I suggest that you bring yourself up to date on current events, history, opinion pieces on America's place in the world, etc. THEN, revisit this question to make sure that you really want to ask it. As it stands, it is an embarrassment.

I am not trying to bash Americans with my answer, but questions and attitudes like the one you have posted here are exactly why so many countries do not like Americans.
