The Ancient Greeks drew up a list of monumental pieces of architecture known as the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. They were huge statues, temples, and buildings that represented the height of human achievement. Today only one Wonder remains--can you guess which one?

• Colossus of Rhodes - a huge statue of a man that stood at a harbor entrance.
• Great Pyramid of Cheops - a massive shrine to Egyptian royalty.
• Hanging Gardens of Babylon - a beautiful structure of man-made gardens.
• Mausoleum at Halicarnassus - a giant tomb erected for a deceased king.
• Pharos Lighthouse of Alexandria - used to steer ships to safety.
• Statue of Zeus at Olympia - Zeus was the king of the Greek gods.
• Temple of Artemis - dedicated to the goddess of the hunt.

Here's a web page that has a list of the 7 wonders of the ancient world, the 7 wonders of the medieval world, the 7 natural wonders, etc. It not only lists them all but has links to each one of them as well. Enjoy!

PS: In case you were wondering, it's the 7 wonders of the ancient world the ones that are the most commonly known as such, but the others are worth seeing too!
