There isn't much you can do. Management will more than likely have a 'talk' with her. Then you will get the dress code memo or email so as not to make her feel that they are picking on her. Just be grateful that she doesn't stink ('m hoping)!!!!

You cant make her change, but it sounds like she has low self esteem and maybe she is depressed also. If so comments about changing herself might only make her feel worse. Why not find a feature about her to praise so that she feels good about herself, say maybe her eyes or mouth. Then maybe you could say at a later time, "you know your eyes would look fantastic with just a touch or mascara", or similar. At the end of the day if she is happy with her looks, why should you be worried.

For one, to approach her in a negative fashion is not going to have her accept your opinion of her, so I do hope your not mean about your view of her.

I would first befriend her, and let her know in a polite manner that you could make her over, or perhaps bring her along with you on a shopping trip, and then thus helping her with make-up tips. She has probably never experimented with make-up and therefore does not care about her appearance, or her upbringing made her come out the way she has.

Compassion should be the way to approach her, first and foremost, then give her your honest opinion on how her appearance, when improved can help her career.

Are you jealous that she has the spine to come in that way? Does this make you feel self-conscious about yourself giving in to the norms of society? She is obviously feeling freed of the bonds of society...to not give in to the norms of society and able to do anything that makes her feel good. You on the other hand seem to feel that she must conform to the standards that you adhere to and must operate on the same wavelength that you guide yourself through life with. My only suggestion would be to worry more about yourself and your little obsessions about the way you look and let your co-worker live the carefree life that she leads. If you want to make her look the way you want her to look, she must be incredibly beautiful the way she is. Deep down, you realize that you pale in comparison and that the only way to even the field is to try to make her look like you...dull and boring." Why are you so superficial?" should be the question she must be asking you.

well - god doesnt have to look at her..and if the workplace requires a specific way of presenting herself then the boss needs to be involved. this is a workplace disruption. good luck

If she is in that kind of mindset, I don't really think you can change her mind. The only thing I can think of is telling her how her appearance may affect sales, but if you do, be careful how you phrase it. I'd hate for you to be accused of harassment or something.

It seems like this bothers you more than it does her. Are you offended by her....is your boss upset at the way she looks? Why do you want to change her? Are you ashamed that you work with her and she looks like this?......

Actually, I believe that its not her...but you that needs to change. Learn to accept people for who they are and not what they look like. That is really shallow and inconsiderate. If she is happy woth the way she looks, then its really none of your business.
Sorry if this upsets you, Have a nice day.

If you work at all with the public, she needs to clean herself up or get fired!

If she already said that she is not going to change I don't think you can do much about it.
Don't worry about her and spend your time in some more productive for you.
Good Luck!

Have a girls nite or sleep over and do makeovers. Then she can see how beautiful she is once she cleans herself up
