I have been friends with him since Sopmore year and we have been friends since. We can tell each other anything and everything. We feel very comfortable around each other, but for some reason I can't tell him I love him. I told him that I liked him before but never I love him. Now we live 2 hours away and i hardly get to see him. We talk on the phone and aim and myspace stuff like that but in a way that isn't enough. Its kinda hard to tell him how i feel becuase what if he doesn't return those feelings and I lose him as my best friend. Please help!

Maybe you could pose it as a question.. like what would you say if I liked you more than just as friends? Tell him that you don't want to change your friendship in any way, but want his thoughts on it?

It must be really tough for you. I understand your feelings. But I think you should do what your heart says and tell him that you love him. Does he talk to you about any other girls? If he doesnt there may be a chance that he will return those feelings. About the long distance relationship, I think it will only work if both of you put forth your maximum effort. Love conquers all. So tell him that you love him. If he loves you back you wont have any more worries. Do as your heart says, because love is a wonderful thing. And you'll only live once. So be happy and go for it!!

You should really tell him how you feel i had the same situation when i was in sophmore year i was in love with my best friend we've even known each other all are lives and now were married and have a son the worst thing he can do is say he doesnt feel that way for you if your scared tell him in a letter or a E-mail.

It will be hard to do, but since you said you can talk about anything tell him. Trust me, my best friend, I nearly lost her because I would take moods with her just because I loved her sooo much and couldn't tell her. When I did tell her, although sometimes I still do because I know I can never have her, I am not as bad, no where as bad. So tell him or it might put a strain on the relationship.

If you can talk about anything then you can tell him how you feel and that you love him. You may want to consider the fact that you feel love for him because you feel close to him. It may not necessarily mean "true love". But life is too short to not try to get what you want and he may be in love with you and not know how to tell you. Go for it.

If he is truly your friend, you wont lose him ever. You should talk to him, if that is your BEST FRIEND you two should be able to talk about anything (that is what friendship is) I was in the same situation and I loved him forever )he didn't feel the same but I learned to accept that we are still friends to this day...Now he wants me!!!! Its a friendship that shouldn't be broken. Go for it!

U just haft to tell him. a person would be surprised at what will happen when u tell someone that they mean the world to you. and dont worry about losing him as a freind, just find out if he likes u back then get on wiht ur life.

if he is your best friend then you can tell him everything. dont live life wondering what if... what if he loves you back?
i also have a bestfriend since i was 14... we love each other and we both knew about it. but i guess we were both too scared to risk the relationship, we just promised each other that when we reach 26 and we both dont have gf/bf, we'll marry each other.
but when we reached that age.. we both have our own happy relationships.. we're 29 now and both engaged. (",) i have two wonderful men i love.

Take the risk and tell him you love him.
You MAY lose him as a friend if you tell him, but you WILL always be angry at yourself if you DON'T tell him. And, if you're very lucky, you MIGHT just find out that he feels the same way about you.

I would test the waters. The next time you see him, start flirting with him. Accidently let him know that you like him more than friends. See what he says. If he feels the same way, he'll let you know. If not, play it off.
