You would need to attend college. Look for a college that has a dance education and or a dance and education degree. Definetly keep up with your dance classes.

The real answer depends on what state you want to teach in. Each state has different certification requirements for public school teachers. Most will require a BA and state certification for you to teach in a HS setting. If you are looking to teach in a private dance studio, those requirements do not apply.
I would recommend looking into some national dance teacher's organizations as well. Dance Master's of America is one of the most well-respected in the country. They offer a "teacher training course" that is outstanding and after you complete it, you can take an exam to become a certified member of the organization. This will open up a host of opportunities for professional development in the dance education world.

Salsa is well however no longer sufficient. You will have to bear in mind taking severe dance categories, research latin dance intensive in case you feel that is fairly your ardour in existence. I'd say, do not drop out but, take a few dance categories in case your institution has a dance division. Rather than leaping the trains, make it a excellent and forged transition. It is feasible that you are going to uncover extra dancing alongside the best way and end up honestly a well dance reputable, or it's feasible that you are going to get your measure in economics and salsa will stay your pastime and ardour. Keep in brain that matters difference while your pastime turns into your activity. Also, new matters are constantly fascinating, you have a tendency to not see the long run hurdles alongside the best way. Now you understand sufficient approximately economics to peer that, however no longer sufficient approximately salsa and dancing. Give it time earlier than you soar to conclusions, do each in the meanwhile. Try to end up a salsa trainer within the evenings and spot in case you honestly adore it.

It depends on what kind of dance you want to teach. Basically you just need to have the experience. If you know any type of dance well enough to teach someone, that's really all you need. Are you a dancer already? If not, find a dance that you really enjoy, and do whatever it takes to get really good at it.

If you are already a dancer you could just buy different style dvd's and teach yourself. This is what I am having to do because I live in a small town and there aren't any instructional classes close by. I can usually learn a dance just by watching, and the really good dvd, (digitaldancers.com is one) teach step by step. Good Luck!
