I'd say there's more to it than that, but it's still a pretty stupid reason to off yourself. I have a hard time feeling pity for people who commit suicide. It's a very selfish act and hurts the people who love the person. It's just uncool.

Did he succeed?
I feel that suicide is a cowards way out! Who cares if you have to go to school. It's the law! You do what you are told and that's that...
His action was a selfish one and he did not even think about the grief that he is bringing to his parents and those that loved him...
Plus, the cost of a funeral these days is outragous!! (not to sound heartless)
Now, he will never know what he could have become because he decided to take the low road and end his life...
What a Shame!
To the parents: I'm very sorry for your loss

sounds like he has more serious issues going on. the mother did the right thing that a parent would do. the issue with people committing suicide is that they don't hink about the people that they're going to leave behind. my cousin killed himself (in front of family) bc he was turned down when he proposed to the woman he was with. she lives with that every day of her life. even though she realizes it really wasn't all her fault. that was the thing that pushed him over the edge. we still talk to her on a regular basis. anyways. i think that it's the wrong way to go. it only causes more issues and problems. and it's that persons way of running from his problems. it's a growing "trend" however. and it's so sad. if you know this guy well then you need to help him get some help.

I think there was more to the story than that. I can't believe a child would resort to something that drastic just because his mother wouldn't let him drop out of school. I think there should have been questions asked of the son by the mother like," why did he want to drop out?" What was upsetting him so badly that he wanted to leave school? I don't think it was addressed as thoroughly as it should have been. Poor mother now.

Did he really commit suicide or are you just asking? If he did I think that he was really wrong. The parent didnt have enough time to ask him the reall reason for hiim wanting to quit school.

There are definitely other issues going on. People don't take such drastic steps if they are thinking rationally. Suicide is a permanent answer to a temporary problem.

I'd say the mother did the right thing anyway. Sounds like he (or she) could have used a little more school!

I think that there was something else wrong. Why did he not want to go to school. What was he trying to get away from. Were his parents open to his thoughts and concerns? Did they really know what was going on?

There were obviously deeper issues than that.
