This girl broke up with this kid and i asked him out and he said yes and now his ex girlfriends mom wants me to break up with him and let her daughter and my boyfriend work things out

The mom should butt out, it's none of her business.
And love is a two-way street, if he was interested in working things out with her, he would.
If you wanted to be really noble, you could tell your boyfriend about it and offer to take a break with him if he feels he ought to work it out with the other girl... but that you really like him and want to stay with him. Then at least you've discussed it and given him the option, and you'll feel more secure about his feelings when he chooses you over her.

Tell your boyfriend what was said, then together you both tell the ex's mom to back off and get a life. And that's what her daughter should be doing also.

The Ex's mother has no right to tell you what you should or shouldn't do. All you have to worry about is you and your new friend. Its all up to him in the end if he chooses to go back to this other girl or not. So be prepared.
