i absolutly LOVE football... mainly because i grew up around it and when im watching football i feel like the only girl that knows what she's talking about... like when i go to high school games i want to accually watch the games but none of my girl friends will go watch it with me because "they don't get it" i'm like well i do so whatever...

I think it depends on the guy. B/c I'm just like you where I could talk football all day long and not get sick of it. Love it, love it, love it! As soon as February rolls around I already have my countdown going for August! haha. My husband, on the other hand, never watched football before I met him....so he could care less whether I knew anything about it or not. Now he watches it with me and gets into it...but still doesn't know nearly as much as I do. Which is most of the reason that I get on Yahoo answers....to talk football with people.

Oh yeah. And more power to you about watching the HS games. I hated back in HS when kids (guys too) just walked around in front of the seat the whole time. I know it's a "social event", but don't block the view of people who came to watch some damn football!

Thank you! I've been having the same problem. My friends don't want to sit with me either when I watch my high school's football games. I end up having to explain everything to a lot of people. I've been wondering the same thing.

It's great when you can hang with people who love sports and you really know what you are talking about. It stinks when someone tries to be a poser and has no idea whats going on. There are guys out there who like a girl that loves sports, then there are some guys that might think you are too much like "one of the guys" - but just be yourself and you'll come out on top!

I think it's great. A football fan is a football fan, and it doesn't matter if you're a girl in that aspect. I think you'd make a fun friend though...perhaps more. Most girls have no interest at all, which is disappointing because it's such an interesting game...

It's true that a lot of guys will tell you that they are attracted to people that take the same interests that they do. There are some that will tell you that if you are too involved you will become part of the dreaded phrase "one of the guys." This puts you into a position where they see you as another one of their "buddies" and couldn't see themselves in a relationship with you.
However at the same time I think it's also interesting to know that even if the girl is not into football and she's willing to sacrifice her time to spend with her guy doing what he enjoys because she cares, that is what guys are into.

I think it's great when a female attempts to get closer to me by delving into my interests. I always try to do the same for them. If I were interested in football, I would be very attracted to someone who took up that interest or at least showed some respect for my interest in it. I'm a baseball nut and my girlfriend always asks questions and shows interest and I love that. That's what makes us closer.

Most of these guys are all saying "yeah & I love it" - but let me tell you the HARSH reality of you being a football fan...
The very minute they realize that you KNOW a lot more than they do - they will be intimidated & will look for you to "slip up" so they can treat you like 1 of the guys and give you harrassment like you've never felt before...

Most of the guys like that.Personally i do because i play football.
It's rare though for a girl to know about football.It's good to talk about it like any other thing and your girl friends should know more about it because after all it's an Olympic game and it's a common issue for discussion between men.It's their loss
