I work in an office, in a cubicle. Sitting about 8 feet behind me sits a very large, kinkos-sized printer that has an annoying/loud internal-fan inside of it that runs all day long. The printer can't be shut off- it's used too often. I'm afraid of being asked to move, considering I'm new to the firm, and it seems weird. I've tried earplugs, but I don't like 'em. I'm looking for a creative, great answer to help me with my problem. Thanks and God Bless.

Bring it up with your supervisor - the company is interested in having a productive employee, and if the printer is what's distracting or bothering you, it should be obvious to your supervisor that they need to remedy the situation. Once you've found a solution to this, you'll be so glad you asked for help! Your work environment should be conducive to work - quiet and relaxing, not stressful.
