i need someones opinion about martyr act of Perpetua?

She should have renounced Christianity in WORDS only.
Instead she was killed by wild animals in the arena. Surely the God would not mind if she would PRETEND to renounce Christianity, but would still believe in her heart?
And if the God would mind, is such a God worth believing in?

She would have died eventually anyway.
