The rest of my grades are good, and I took Chemistry in the first semester of my freshman year at Temple University. I plan on applying to Medical school with my bachelors in electrical engineering with bioengineering option.

I'm wondering how you got thru organic chem if you did so poorly in general chem. Did you get D both semesters in general chem?

The med college is going to want to see high grades in two terms of chemistry and two terms of organic chemistry. I think that is required pre-req for admission to most med schools. So, you have your work cut out for you

Retake the course over. It's hard to get into medical school with almost perfect grades let alone a D. You need an A this go around because they tend to average the two grades together. So an A averaged with a D would be about a B- or C+.

Medical school is, at best, mega difficult to get into with near perfect grades, so, to answer your question, retake the Chem course, and try to get an A this time around.

You will probably have to take chemistry back over again to get a better grade. Most graduate programs rarely accept c's and def. not d's. I would take the course back over and get a better grade.

You'll have to retake the course, no questions asked. A D in a required course is very bad.

First year marks are probably next to meaningless. Usually a graduate school will most heavily weight the last two years of undergrad and your MCAT.

I got a D too and my life is over and I hate college with a passion.
