I don't think you can beat the San Antonio River Walk for romance in the evening. Especially during that time when the temperatures are acceptable and make you want to be close. Excellent restaurants, hotels, and shopping mall on the river walk. The lighting and decorations and boat rides are perfect to create a mood.

I moved from Houston a couple years ago, lived there for numerous years and am trying to think of someplace romantic you can go to. Old Town Spring is GREAT to go especially during the holidays, its decorated and beautiful and loads of fun and VERY close to houston in Spring, just a few miles to the north. There is also a very nice bed & breakfast there you can stay at, but I would reserve now. Its called McLachlan Farms

I think it will really come down to your personal interests. But, some thoughts for you to consider.
1. A bed and breakfast in the hill country.
2. San Antonio River Walk
3. A condo in Rockport.
4. Barton Creek Resort and Spa in Austin
Where ever you end, have a great time.
