"Dreamed" and "dreamt" are both appropriate past tenses of "dream". "Dreamt" is the older form, but this verb is currently in flux, changing from an irregular verb to a regular verb. So in the future, it'll be only "dreamed".

Dreamed and dreamt are both acceptable. When you are speaking of dreams in the literal sense of night time dreams, then "dreamt" is probably the better choice. However, when you are speaking of a dream of fulfilling some goal, dreamed is used.
Example: I always dreamed of becoming an architect, but now it is too late.

Either is acceptable - but 'dreamt' is recommended.
'Dreamed' is often more poetic - "I dreamed a dream so rare."
