I've never given an apple to a teacher, but I did give my fifth and sixth grade teacher letters, visits, and invitations to both my high school graduation and my wedding, of which he attended both. He was the one teacher who taught me how to think differently and started my interest in many things including poetry(specifically Yeats), drama, and my dream, archaeology :)
I've never done the frog thing either, is it too late for pranks like that ?

I gave my Latin teacher an apple once....but it was after I had her as a teacher. I was an apple picker by trade for a season and while sitting on the farm eating a Delicious while watching the sunrise I had a *golden* idea. I proceeded to grab my ladder, put on my apple pouch and pick away. After a day's worth of getting branches stuck in my hair and awaiting my pay of 2 dollars and a fist full of coins, I drove to the high school that I attended with a shiny, freshly picked apple in my hand. Unfortunately, Mrs. W wasn't there *sigh* So I left her a note...along with the apple. I figured it was the best I could do since she was such an amazing woman and teacher of more than just the Latin language.
Later I found out they did away with the Latin program and it saddened me to think no more students would be influenced by such a wise lady. I never knew if she received the apple but I like to believe she did...and that she enjoyed eating it as much as I enjoyed picking it for her.

Nooooooo - you did that in my school, you died, no appeel (ahem), no trial, no nothing - you were strung up on the toilet door so everyone could get you.
I WAS part of the English class that was OFFICIALLY credited as giving a teacher a nervous breakdown once. I also gave dating advice to the alcoholic student-groping economics teacher, a ration of prime Falco BS to the politics teacher and eventually, credit where credit was due to another English teacher. Also, I gave three years of my life to my ex, and she was a teacher - does that count as the "bloom" of my youth?
:o)

I never did that.
1- I always thought my teachers would too cautious to eat them and they'd end up going to waste, and
2- If I ever wanted to suck up to a teacher o:) or retaliate for that matter, I'd be a little more creative than an apple >:D>

I gave my 4th grade pe/health teacher an apple, then asked her in front of the whole class if she would marry my Daddy. She was very nice about it and told me that she was already married.

Only when I am trying to worm my way into her heart. Am I just rotten to the core? What kind of apples are most appealing?

I have always preferred to give my teachers headaches...with perhaps a bottle of ibuprofen around the holiday's, just to say "I care."
