My ISP seems not to accept the php mail function. Anyone knows what i can use instead of it? thanks :)

You can use it to send mail through an external SMTP account.

But have you asked your ISP if it supports mail()? Yahoo!, for example, does, but you need to activate this support through their control panel and specify the default outgoing address. Other ISPs may have a similar procedure...
