Yes it is legal for her to move out of your home. Since you live in Texas then she is considered an adult. And as long as she tells you where she is going then you can't report her as a runaway and there is nothing that the police can do about it.

In pretty much every state a young adult can move out at this age, most states see it as pointless to try to force someone so close to 18 to stay where they do not want to be. More than likely your daughter did not just turn 17 when you posted this question, just how close is she to her 18th 5 months, 3 months etc. see what I mean, she is aging out as each day passes. Now is the time to establish an adult relationship that you'd like to have with your daughter now and forever. My own daughter struck out on her own at 17 in Wisconsin, believe me they can do it. There are 17yr olds serving in the armed forces, married, and also some attending college etc. not as uncommon as people think. Even if the police would bring someone back home at this age there is nothing preventing them from just leaving again.

it does not matter if it is legal or not, it is matter if she is old enough to leave home?
I do not like this idea, but it is just me,I really think kids has to stay home till they finish college and they are ready to face the world

If she moves out you cant report her as a run away but as a missing person, then if she ever gets stopped by the cops they bring her back to you. And yeah she can move out but can only do so much...
