Because there are some in the bisexual community that give that community a bad name. Look, the gays I know don't hate the true bisexuals, but there are fake ones.
How many times have you heard of a person go from bisexual into homosexual? It makes it seem like bisexuality is a transition point between where you were and where you want to be and so afterwards people think that bisexuality is just a pit stop. The other thing are the people that claim to be bisexual to be cool. That also tarnishes the bi community's rep. Another thing. There are some flaming gays who say that they're bi. That doesn't help either. Or the guys who have slept with 9 other guys but had a girl friend back in middle school they kissed and say that they're bi.

I am a closeted lesbian and I used to think that I was bisexual for quite a long time but I do think that there are people who are actually bisexual and that its not just a phase for them. I don't hate anyone including bisexuals and I would date one (if I do ever come out that is)

I don't hate bisexuals.
In the past I've disliked bisexuals. I had my mind made up that they were people who'd never be able to commit to one person, because one person could never give them everything they wanted. A long time ago I even thought that bisexuals were just confused people who should choose to be either gay or straight. How judgemental was I! I was acting just as badly as the straight people who tell us that we're choosing to be gay!
Now the way I feel is, to each their own. They are the way they are, just as I am the way I am, and you can't control your sexuality.

Not all gays hate bisexuals, but it could be that they give homophobes the reason to argue that some people can be either and therefore all people can.
It's to do with ignorance and hatred, both of which are hard to explain.

Born Bi. As everyone is. Societal pressures and environment shove some into the illusion of homo or hertero, but there is really no barrier to great sex between any gender... it's all in thier heads. I feel like the one who knows his true self by not bending to the bullshit opinions of others. I SNH sadly when I get negative feeling from either side - and I do. Thier loss!

using your own logic straight people would hate bisexuals too.

I've never seen any hate. I've seen disagreements and people thinking that bisexuality doesn't exist, but no hate. I guess I've been either lucky or I have thicker skin than others.
