I would go to the Pyramids for the sound and light show. Bring in the New Year at a place that has been around for centuries.

we as egyptian people not celebrate at the new year eve. and most egyptian people who like to celebrate at that night they go to one of the big hotels. so it seem you may be in egypt as a tourist at that night so sure you will be staying at hotel and sure the hotel is arrange nice big party for them guest so this all what u can have.

If your`e going to sharm , the only thing I can tell you is that they try and cater for the Brits - you`ll enjoy it.
