What can teachers not do by law?...like its against the law to not let a student go to the restroom, what are the rest of the laws.

The biggest one appears to be that teachers cannot touch a student unless it is clearly in self-defensive or to protect another student.

Throwing things at students also appears to be a very bad thing.

It's not against the law to not let a student go to the restroom
The teacher holds the power in the classroom this is called enforcing the rules
They have to or then they pay the concequences in somethig happens to a student while they where suppose to be in class and they let them out.

Good question, I would consult with an Attorney to get the fine print on the laws in your state. Now days, people in these type of roles are very easly sued and loose their jobs do to this, not knowning the law or having protection. yes it can get them in trouble law-wise unsure, but it can be called cruel and un-usual punishment
