I'm in college and I keep messing up. I will be 5 minutes late for a class and will miss a quiz in those 5 minutes or I will read my syllabus wrong and will think the test is next week, when really it is tomorrow! I just can't seem to manage it all and I am missing when the summer when I was working full time. I woudl go to work, come home and then have the rest of the night to relax and do whatever I wanted. Now I have to go to class, go to meetings, go to work and then have homeowrk and studying on top of it. I can't manage it all and I feel like it woudl be a lot easier if I just dropped out and went back to working fulll time...

Sometimes people purposely sabotage their own efforts because they really don't want to be doing it in the first place. Did you bite off more than you can chew? Can you regroup and take fewer credits? You really need to think about what your goals are and how you can achieve them without driving yourself up a wall.

but remember there are a lot of successful college students who feel overwhelmd but somehow manage to pull it off.

College has a lot to do with being organized. Keep a day planner and be ritualistic with it. That way you can look down at it and see exactly what is due what day and when. Also, if you are in any extra curricular activities, drop them if you don't need them. Your grades are more important than extracurricular activities.

Another thing I found to help is to work your butt off for the first 3/4ths of the semester to get the highest grades you can and get ahead if you can if you have a syllabus that lists some of the homework assignments ahead of time. Some days you will have extra time and use that extra time to get ahead on homework. I would use that extra homework I had done ahead of time as a buffer. That way if you are running short on time later on that's one less assignment you have to do and you can let the buffer slip a little bit.

Also, with time you will get a feeling for the hints the professor gives as far as what will be on the test or quiz. For large lecture halls, sometimes they will have 2-4 sessions of the same class (9am, 10am, 1pm, etc). If you can't make it to one, you can probably hit the next session and take the quiz in it or turn your homework in on it.

For studying, I found it is a good idea to create an outline of the subject material or to create study note cards. Writing will help you remember some of the stuff.

Also, focus on the most important stuff first. Sometimes you won't have time to get everything done so you have to pick which is going to affect your grade the most.

Lastly, don't take too many credit hours. I got pushed into that in college and it really hurt me. I think 14 credit hours for a full time student is plenty if you want to keep your grades up. Yes, it might take you an extra semester to graduate, but it is worth it.

Don't drop out and give up. It's very hard to go back if you quit.

It's very easy to "mess up" if you do not know The Truth to the things you would like to do.

Use your dream time (you have to sleep anyway, so you have nothing to lose if you try the following) to access the truth.

Try Sleep programming - this is when you consciously access your dreamtime to know WHAT TO DO when you wake up and it is impossible to mess up - because you are using "The Truth" or The Correct Answer.

Try this before you go to sleep:

YOU MUST SAY THIS OUT LOUD:

"I WISH TO KNOW THE TRUTH: WHAT DO I DO IN THE MORNING, WHEN I WAKE UP?"

Then go to sleep and you will be shown EXACTLY what to do in the form of a dream that night.

Understand, you can ASK for the Truth to any question you have in your heart and get THE FREE ANSWER while you sleep.

Sounds like you are a very capable young woman who needs to learn time management skills.

You can read about it, so a search, attend a seminar or class, but it helps us all in life to set short term goals that get you through the day, and long term goals that get you through life.

Good luck

I know exactly what you mean. This semester I told myself I wouldn't mess up AGAIN. Now I think I'm going to drop all my classes and try again next semester. I just can't handle my daughter, work, and school. It's TOO stressful.
