He's a dog, but a creepy one. What's weird is in a lot of the cartoons, they also have a dog. I never understood that. Why did they have their pet (Pluto) while Goofy got to walk on two legs and sit at the table?

I think he is some kind of hound. But what I don't understand, is how come Goofy got to walk and talk, have a family, and live in his own home, but Pluto was treated like a dog and lived with Mickey? Never made any sense.
