Why do they have sidewalks if no one ever walks on them?

i don't know about your area, but my Grandma lives in a subdivision, and people are always jogging or walking dogs on the sidewalk. In my neighborhood, people just walk down the side of the street, we're not good enough for sidewalks.

I think it depends on where you are. In some suburban areas, you see people walking or jogging all of the time.

What suburban areas? I have lived in the suburbs of Dallas and people walked and jogged all the time. Also where I live now the people seem to be very active.
