the easiest way is a no contest divorce. It's also the cheapest. You two are going to have to put all your differences aside and talk about how you are going to split up everything, child support and so on. Be civil.

Divorce laws are different in every state. The first thing you need to do is contact an attorney. Protect yourself and your children (if you have any).
Divorce is a difficult thing, and definetely NOT the easy answer. Your life will change drastically, and it is scary. Be prepared for that and be sure you are making the right choice!
Do not agree to anything just to make the divorce go faster, or to please the other person. Make sure that you fight for what is fair and what you deserve.
I need you to be more specific if you need a more detailed answer. Good luck to you!

My suggestion is to learn to compromise now. Obviously you couldnt do it when you were married but now's the time to learn. If you do not intend to end up in an expensive legal matter that can go on for years, learn to compromise. Go to mediation if you have to, but that's an expense that is not always necessary. Both sides should be able to just comprise. He wants the car and the kids every other weekend, she wants the house and the 401k plan. Whatever.

Review your assets, what is it that you want out of the divorce. Prepare yourself mentally. This is NOT a pleasant trip. Try to agree on what both of you want (this will pay off in the end). BUT stick to your guns on what you want.

If you are going to file, make sure you have a good lawyer, and make sure they are 100% on your side and not just trying to earn a buck from you. You gotta have emotional support from your lawyer or else you will end up losing alot more both financially and emotionally.

My advice, don't get a good attorney, get the most crooked one you can find. They know how to fight dirty and get what you want. However, if the divorce is because of something you did, like cheating, I hope your spouse gets the dirty lawyer first.
