I have never understood this! Sometimes I will listen to a song and read the lyrics out of the CD book and they are completely wrong! It has bugged me for the longest time.
Does anybody know why and how this happens?

okay,these two other people had no information.me,after a bit of checking around,its tied to a copyright problem.the artist will allow the lyrics,but doesnt want the listner to "cover"any of their songs the same way.another reason is that the artist is free to improv,change around the lyrics, during recording,butthey tend to print them the way they were originally written.

also stores are different some has cuss words in the lyrics and some don't K'MART don't have cuss words in their lyrics
