I don't know if a squad directly affects the players themselves. However, they certainly can pump up the whole entire crowd, which in volumes can get the players working super hard! It's so great when people are yelling and cheering for you- it's contagious and makes you want to work harder. Go ahead and start the "De- Fense! De- Fense!" cheer and see if the crowd can resist joining you. Another easy one is "D-D-D-Defense!" If you can get hundreds of people to join you with your cheers, it will certainly affect game play!

Whoa I clicked on the wrong question and I totally care that you are cheering out there because I know how you feel because I'm a cheerleader too! Too many people don't even care about us and try to ignore us and think that we're annoying. Doesn't it annoy you when people think that cheerleaders are just stuck up, preppy, snobs!!!!!! It annoys me because a lot of people think that that is all cheerleaders are. We aren't (all) like that.

Honestly, no. I have a deep respect for the work that cheerleaders put into to what they do but I don't really watch them at games or particularly notice that they are there. I do think that they meant a lot to the athletes at my school though.

when i was a player, we didnt care about the cheerleaders at all. i think cheerleading is good for girls because it just gives them something to do. they're mostly just eye candy for the crowd.
