Racism is not found in a geographical region in the United States. Rather, it is found in the hearts and minds of the people who populate it. Where there is ignorance combined with hatred you will find racism. Unfortunately, form large cities to the smallest of towns you will find rampant ignorance and deep seeded hatred. This thought process knows no boundaries and therefore sprouts racism wherever there are people.

To be honest,. I think it's everywhere!
Just when the "white folks" are starting to understand that color of skin does not matter, "black folks" started turning things around by using their skin color as an excuse for everything.
Best example: A co-worker of mine, african-american (to be politically correct), the laziest person I have ever worked with, relied on everybody else to do his job.
Eventually I got fed up with it and asked him if he was not worried to get fired because of this, and his response was:
"Honey, look around! I am the only black person in here, they can't fire me!"
Sorry, guys, but as long as you use this as a skape goat, there will always be racism. If we want people to be treated equally, then adjust and behave accordingly.
...and btw, I have plenty of friends from all cultures, and have nothing against them in general. Just against people that use this as an excuse for everything.

I would say cities with the lowest population due to lack of exposure.
You can search for hate crime stats at the web address I've included but remember that bigger cities have more people and that even though minneapolis minnesota has 21 reported hate crimes vs duluth, mn's, lets say 5, mpls's population is far greater and so the percentage of people per crime may be lower.

There is not central location of which racism is pinned. It is found in every state, county, city and town and may be noted in people of varying colors and beliefs.

All over really, however in my experience, small towns are worse than large cities. In my son's short life of 6 years, we have lived in Chicago, Dallas and now Champaign, IL and it is here in Champaign that he is facing the racism.

I would say in the more highly populated cities. I grew up in the burbs and although I knew the textbook def of racism, I never truely understood it until I moved to the city. Where I grew up was almost all caucasian, The few black, asian or spanish kids in my school were as "white" as I was.
