You should hire a pro for that. They've got these big suction/blower things that come in and clean them. I don't think that's really a DIY job.

Thats usually something you call a profesional for. Usually carpet cleaning companies are also into duct cleaning. Some hardware stores like the home depot will rent the necessary equipment.
Its basicaly a brush on a wire that spins inside the duct and sucks dust into a vacum.
