My prediction is 7 years. It is hard to maintain peace in a war torn area surrounded by those that think democracy is useless. This is a war like non-other. We are having to be trained for guerilla fighting in cities not jungles. Our military is teaching and training so that we are more better equipped to fight these types of war. This one has taught our military that they were unprepared for this type of fight. It can take years to learn the style needed to succeed.

Also we are training Iraq soldiers from civilians. The problem with this is as we get lets say 500 men trained, 200 quit. It is never ending. Once they find out how dangerous and hard it is they quit and all the money and man hours that it took to train them is lost. So we keep shoveling more money in to this training hoping it will take hold. It is a revolving door. Many Iraqis need the money and the job but they quit because it is hard or dangerous or the family elder wants them to quit. It is just a job to them nothing more.

And rebulding their country could take 10 year or more. Iraq is devistated finacially, their government, and their cities and towns.
It will take more billions to fix it. Was this the best decision for Americans?
I dont think so. Our money could have done so much more here.

If a Democrat is elected in 2008 then we will be out of Iraq by the time April comes of the same year!

Hopefully not long. I suggest we start pulling 10,000 troops out per month out of one region at a time. If they start losing control just let the stupid bastards kill each other. It is not going to make any difference if we stay six months or six years, 30 days after we leave the place is going to be in a civil war.

I'm a socialist, but I believe the Republicans will probably win in 08. Whoever's elected will try to make a name for himself and try to get us out. I say he starts a big pull-out in time for the mid-term elections in 2010 with the final pull-outs being during his re-election campaign in 2012. Just more of the same manipulation we've seen.

I would imagine that if one of his cronies is elected, or god forbid his brother, we'll be there for a very long time. If it's not one of his cronies, regardless of party, I think we'll be there for about 10 minutes after inauguration
