She should be eating about 3 to 4 ounces every 3 to 4 hours. After a baby eats (breast or bottle) they still do that sucking motion. That is a normal reaction and it is a healthy reaction. If she were still hungry, she would get fussy. She just might still want to suck. If you are not opposed, you might want to consider giving her a pacifier. That might help soothe her after she eats.

I would increase the amount of formula, at two weeks both of my children were taking about 4 ounces every 3 hours. The general rule of thumb is to always stay about 1 ounce ahead of baby, if she is finishing her 2 ounce bottle, try preparing a 3 ounce one next time. If she is still acting like she is hungry and you are not sure, try putting a pacifier in her mouth, if she spits if right back out and still acts hungry, chances are she is. Fix her a fresh bottle with the same amount as the first. If she only takes one ounce, then you know that you only need to increase the formula another ounce. If she is content sucking on the passy, then she just needs the sucking reflex. Make sure you remember to burp her about every 2 ounces. Feel free to contact via email.

My pediatrician told me that there should be a little something left in the bottle after 30 minutes. If the baby is draining it in that time or less, increase it by an ounce or two and follow the same rule.
It is possible that she just has the strong sucking reflex, too. My son acts like he's starving constantly (which he is not), so after he finishes his bottle, I give him his pacifier. If I fed him as often as he thinks he wants to eat, he'd be a tiny sumo wrestler by now!

How precise? no longer very, in maximum circumstances. the way those quantities on the area are desperate is they take a team of canine, each and each in a separate run, and place a weighed quantity of canine foodstuff interior the canine run. on the tip of the day what's left is weighed and that they take the popular of the canine weights and foodstuff eaten and say it is the optimal quantity to feed. they do no longer think approximately if the canine is fat, how lively they are, or the rest. I even have by no potential feed the quantities they advise. I many times feed some distance much less, even for my agility canine! i've got had canine all my existence and so I kinda have a gadget of what I do. we will take my 18 month previous Australian livestock canine that does Agility, a sprint Rally Obedience and a few Conformation, (and runs and performs with the different canine like a MANIAC! ) as an occasion... He gets an exceedingly stable foodstuff and all I feed him is a million a million/2 cups of dry foodstuff an afternoon (a million/2 cup interior the morning and a million cup interior the nighttime and that's it. He gets treats whilst we prepare besides. Now, we've yet another canine it is the comparable length as my ACD and has to consume two times that quantity of dry foodstuff to maintain an analogous weight on the comparable foodstuff. I usually for a canine that would desire to weigh around 25 to 30 pounds I commence with a cup of foodstuff two times an afternoon and then modify up or down finding on what their weight does.

You don't say how many ounces you're currently giving her. It might be time to up it one more ounce - two at the most - & see if she takes all of that without spitting up. You'll be able to tell if she's still hungry or just suckling on the nipple. Ask the nurse at her pediatricians' office for the best advice or call the nursery at the hospital where you delivered & ask a nurse there. Good luck & congratulations on your little girl!!

it could be just her sucking reflex. if your not sure then call her peditrition. i had the same ? for my baby. they told me she should be eating 24 oz of formula in a 24 hr peroid. u said your feeding her every 3 hours. im guessing its 2 ounces. just knock it up an ounce and see how she does. if u dont feel safe doing it then ask a doc. your her mother and you know whats best for her. but as long as it seems to satisfy her then it should be ok. as long as she dont spit up a lot afterwards or cry a lot. 3 oz might make her waite 4 hrs to eat. good luck

You should try giving her more because your baby knows when to stop.
