I'd like to see Jason Schmidt on a contender. The Yankees would be the worst option. They have an old team and a very delicate mindset, especially with Gay-rod. If the Giants don't resign him, and they should because San Fran figures to be the contender for next year in the NL West, then a good team for him might be a contender like the White Sox, Blue Jays or maybe the Braves. But either way, there may be some teams desparate to get pitching and may be willing to pay whatever he wants.

I sure can see the Yankees offering Schmidty and Zito a whole lotta cash.

The Giants have a pretty good young pitching staff. They need to add bats.

Though, the reason they did not trade him at the deadline may have been a desire to re-sign him and have him there to anchor the young staff. I think the division is winable, but they have to be aggressive this off-season.

Yankees will make a run at him, but I hope he ends up with the Cubs. The Cubs need the pitching more than anyone.

Every team with extra cash will be in the hunt. Boston, NYY and NYM are front-runners right now.

They won't and probably one of the New York teams will.
