I have to do a talk/speech for my English GCSE which counts towards my Speaking & Listening section...
I am completly stuck for ideas, and the speech is due tomorrow... It can be about anything or anyone, it just has to be entertaining & engages the audience...
If there are any suggestions, i would be glad to hear them!! Thanx

When you do your speech try not to read it off your sheet. Look at it briefly. Highlight the key points so they stand out. As for content you could look at something in the news, something comical and informative linked to the novel you're reading (To Kill A Mockingbird?) Make sure you talk to the audience and engage them by using words like "YOU will see that..." or "do you agree?" Good luck, be confident and you will succeed. I got two A*'s last year when i sat mine so believe you'll do well and i can assure you that you'll be fine! xxxx

I suggest that you do it on a topic that you are interested in, that way you will perform it better and this willl be a good performance to the audience. Make sure that what you write about the topic seems interesting. No point doing a topic that you dont like because you wont make a very engaging performance which will just bore the audience anyway.

What about a speech about a speech - 'The loneliness of the long distance speech giver', or 'How to give a good talk without really trying' - all about the art of speech writing and giving, the mistakes that can be made etc? Just a thought!

By one other one I suppose you mean one random thing that you believe in, so: Out of your choices I would go for Clowns Illness pigeons My 3 would be Justin Bieber - (get a laugh from your class, good for marks) Cancer - (Touches most people's hearts, thoughtful) Room 101 - (Creating a huge paradox which ultimately creates a black hole sucking in the world.)

Have you got a hobby or interest where you could use props to illustrate and engage your audience (e.g. bring in ballet shoes/ fishing rod & show how to use as part of talk)?

Or something autobiographical - how you've found school and education so far? Your family? Your country/parents' country (if not UK - could show photos/maps/items).
