Apparently you've never been to the Xcel in Minnesota. There's not a single bad seat in the house, every single game is practically sold out, and it's the state of hockey so the fans are passionate about hockey and go WILD when they score! I've been to many of the arenas and the Xcel is the best by far. But if want an official say on this issue check out why Sports Illustrated thinks so, too.

I don't really have a lot to compare it to, but the AAC in Dallas, where the Stars play, is a very nice arena. It's also home to the Dallas Mavericks. It's a fairly new arena, clean, and basically no bad seats, especially for a hockey game. Now they're making it even nicer by adding huge screen "jumbo trons" on the outside, adding a couple of restaurants, etc.

The old Montreal Forum has sold out in Montreal for ever and still do today in the largest arena at the Bell Center in Montreal.
Bell Center capacity 21,273 avg. attendance 21,273 ranked 1st in NHL
Nationwide Arena capacity 18,136 avg. attendance 16,113 ranked 17th in NHL
GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Bow Hunter>>>>>>all this stats you have said come from you and their not true stats. Nationwide Arena has close to 1500 to 2000 empty seats every home game, and after the lockout, the fans were infuriated by the awful start and they the fans let it be known, both at the games attendance drop and in calls to the radio and letters to the editors. there not #1 or anything not even close.

The old Montreal Forum was my favourtie, but it's no longer in use for NHL games. I'd say that Madison Square Garden is probably the best arenaa still in use.

Coyotes, Jobing.com Arena. Rated top ten venue in the world to see an event. Penguins play in the oldest arena now, the Igloo, built in the 60's.

The greatest Arena's were the old Chicago venue and Maple Leaf Gardens. They had charachter. Unfortunately they all look the same now.. Maybe Joe Louis in Detroit because it is one of the few left from the good old days..

Nationwide Arena home of the Columbus Blue Jackets. It has been voted the best the past 2 years. Now if we can just get our team to play hard every night I will be very happy.
It has also been voted #1 in fan experience.
