More specifically something that I dont have to install on the server. Just a cgi script (or something similar) that will convert these files when they are uploaded.

There are no scripts that will manage this, unfortunately file conversions need to happen locally and can not happen globally. There are a budle of software programs that will convert damn near everything to whatever youd like. The only concern is legallities, but I'm sure if you go to downloads.com and search for conversion utilities, you'll find more programs then you know what to do with.

I am familiar with a program called Fruity Loops that exports project files into .FLV formats, but is midi based. The program can export files and save files as .wmv or .wma, but I'm not entirely sure about the other way around though I'm sure a file conversion add on exists somewhere for it.
