if you are agnostic, what would it take to make you believe? I'm just wondering because, I'm agnostic, but I think it would literally take seeing god to make me believe. maybe.

I consider myself agnostic, pretty much a atheist, pagan in the loosest sense of the word. I study ancient religions as a hobby, and I basically consider all organized religion a cult, based upon power, and fear.

Agnostics use the excuse that they're undecided, while having the luxury of hedging their bets by not completely blowing off God just so they won't burn in Hell "in case" He exists. Atheists spend a great deal of their time denying the existence of God. I don't spend my time on anything I don't believe in. Who are they trying to convince, us or themselves? Then there's the "God needs to jump in my lap before I believe" crowd. Me, I have faith and I don't have a problem with believing in someone bigger and better than myself who wants me to be eternally happy.

If you were truly agnostic, you would believe that the question of God's existence is unanswerable. No proof of God is possible, not is a dis-proof of God possible.

Agnostic does not mean "I just haven't made up my mind yet." It means, "I have decided that the question can't be answered one way or another, so I won't waste any of my time thinking about it."

I don't know that I've ever labeled myself as agnostic, but I consider myself to be pretty close to it. Organized religion has become such a "business" lately, it's just turned me off! There have been times that I've felt like something greater than myself was guiding my life, but otherwise, I think we're completely in charge of our own destiny. If you're truly agnostic, I'm curious as to what you would be seeing that would make you think it was God. . . to ultra-religious people, God is in the eyes of children, kittens, whatever they choose to see "him" in.

Agnosticism is a philosophical school of thought and can be separate from your religious beliefs. Agnosticism relates more to how logical you think. Spirituality relates more to the irrationality of thinking. Funny enough, though, they're compatible.

For me, I'm agnostic, as-in, I find that the unknown to be unknowable and that it is arrogant to claim truth to something that vague. On the other side of the coin, though, claiming proof that there isn't anything is just as arrogant. Spiritually, though, I believe that there's something more out there, I just don't have a name or qualifications to it.

I am not agnostic. I believe having faith is much like having faith in a partner... Sometimes you just have to hang in there and hope for the best.

Belief is irrelevant. God is irrelevant. What helps your mind right now? Where is your mind right now? What matters in your life today? What makes a difference to you & do you understand why? How can we best develop our human potential of heart-felt compassion, mental concentration, and ethical strength? That's the challenge of human life.

Know your mind. Know your heart. See their real potential, and don't worry about the people who try to throw a trip on you. It's not their fault, they just don't know any better.

Peace in your heart & Good Luck!

;-)
