Vidkun Quisling, was a Norwegian politician who made a pact with the Nazis during World War 2. He made himself the head of state and ordered his soldiers to stop fighting. However, his plans backfired and the Norwegian Resistance was strengthened by his actions. As a result of this his name is synonymous with traitors to their country.
