Common sense suggests that this life is all you get. Plants and animals die all the time and we don't worry about them, in fact we eat them.
People live on in the memories of others so strive to make as many friends as you can, particularly young people, so the fond memory of you continues.

i will quote one of my all time favorite TV shows:
Lady: Why do we have to die?
Nate Fisher: To make life mean something....
i think thats how it went...
i have lost 2 family members lately and watched them die until their very last breath...after that, i had sat here and wondered, why do i need all this crap that i buy, who is going to want it when i die, it will just get thrown away and thats money lost...i agree though, why do we do all these things and we die, most usually live between 70-80 years old..yeah thats a long time but what do we do in the mean time...not much, unless you are trying to save the world and cure cancer...
i do believe that there is life after death and we do come back, whether it be bird, an ant or another person..if we come back as a person, we dont have a recollection of that life we once lived...unless you have that thing where you think you were someone else in a past life...
oh well...thats my 2 cents... :)

I believe in that for sure. I believe I was reincarnated. My former life??????? okay laugh if you must, but I strongly believe I was an Egypitan in my past life. I have such a strong connection with Ancient Egyptians I feel like I was one before. But yeah, I do believe that when someone dies they go to heaven unless they have been really bad then they might not get to heaven. Meaning of life to me is to live, love and learn while we grow. Once someone dies, they live on in family and friends hearts. They carry the dead with them till they die.

if you were a religious type person then you would believe the bible in what it says resecting life and death. The living are conscious that they will die but the dead are conscious of nothing. if there were life after death then why would we die. sometimes we just overanalyze things as respecting the meaning of life.

The point of life is to propogate your genes onto your offspring. That is the meaning of life.
Everything we do (directly or indirectly) aides in begeting offspring.
When you die, that's it. You as a biological organism are no longer, but you do live on genetically through your direct progeny.
It's a difficult reality to swallow, but true, nonetheless.

I believe in life after death.
Our soul goes back to God.
Our life is a gift. We must try to become more like God while we are down here on this earth.

depends upon your personal faith, but imo when you are dead you are dead. meaning of life? kinda presumptuous to believe there is a meaning. life just is, thats all. while it is miraculous that we all are here and share in this experience that is life, to place some sort of 'meaning' to it beyond the fact that we exist is a personal issue.
to me a better question is what is the point of life.
