Hi! What would be a good laptop for college? If you can, suggest both the brand and the specifics... I'm a senior physics student and I plan on using the laptop in my graduate studies.

For your best bet, I highly recommend Dell. They have few problems, and cost little to repair versus most other brands. I have a Dell Latitude C600 that I have had since they came out, and never had a single problem with it, even when I went from Win2000 Pro to XP it functions well. Stay away from Compaq! They are expensive to repair and vulnerable to being moved. Hope this helps. For more information go to http://www.dell4me.com

I would get a macBook or a macbook pro they are the best ones on the market in my opinion and the best part is that they don't get viruses like window's computers, well they do but it's very rare and plus then you can use fun programs like imovie, idvd, iphoto and many more

Macbook. It costs less than a Dell, and OS X is Unix based so it's great for scientific work. It's also virus/spyware free.

Sony Vaio, get all the options available. I got on for my son. He's in Law school (his final year, yea). They are great computers and he loves it. Good luck.
