About 15-20 years for the standard asphalt shingles. You can pay more to get some that are supposed to last longer though. I live in Florida too and we replaced our roof when it was about 16 1/2 years old. It also depends on if there is a lot of debris on your roof, or if you keep it cleaned off. If there is a lot of debris up there it keeps the shingles wet after it rains and they will deteriorate faster.

I had Shingles for the first time a few weeks ago. I am normally in good health and haven't had any other health challenges before, so it came as a surprise.
Shingles is probably the most painful thing I have ever encountered. I went to the doctor, and he gave me some prescription drugs to take that was suposed to help, but didn't.
My wife found the Fast Shingles Cure ebook online and bought it for me, I am very lucky to have such a wonderful woman in my life. We followed the book, did what it said, and it delivered what it promised. Finally my Shingles rash is over... I feel truly blessed and thankful.

Most asphalt roofs last 15 to 20 years depending on the weight of the shingles. The weather (such as hailstorms) could shorten this span

heres the honest answer:
A 20 yr. asphault/fiberglass shingle in so. florida
will last 12-14 years, i dosent matter where you live 20 yr, shingles doesnt last 20 years. A`30 year will not last 30 years. Go with a metal roof,
more bang for the buck, lots if choices.

It depends on how good the shingles are that are on the house, usually they are guaranteed for 25 to 35 years. That is not saying they will last that long.

it would look that the lighter colorings will mirror greater warmth and in all probability final longer, yet there are different factors to think approximately and which would be if that's a single layer roof rather of putting the hot one over the previous one. it is going to shorten the existence of the hot roof, lower back to the warmth construction up. Attic ventialtion followers will help shop the attic area cooler and make the roofs final longer. stable success
