I am trying to get some research done with no luck; communism is a hard subject to get any information on while at school. I need to name communist countries in the Middle East, Latin America and in Asia, I already know some from Asia (China and Vietnam) and Latin America (Cuba) but I know nothing about the Middle East, I am not looking for answers but maybe a source I could start my research from? The years that the united states got involved is an important part of this project.

I believe the only communist countries nowadays are Cuba, Vietnan, China and North Korea. Although China and Vietnam are communist only in theory. The only communist nations in the world are Cuba and North Korea.

Hmmm good question, I'm not even sure there are communist countries in the middle east. All the ones that come to mind are either a dictatorship, a Monarchy or a theocracy.

Iraq (mmmm almost anyway)
Am sure theres plenty more ive left off but still can't come up with a true commie country in the middle east.
P.S. And I agree with freec, China is slowly but surely managed to transform itself and one day without much fanfare, we'll wake up and realize they are probably more capitalist then us!

for starters there are no communist countries any more. china is a capitalistic country and cuba is more a socialistic country. USSR maybe had been the only communistic country but it stoped being communistic from ww2 and after. in latin america most countries are socialistic and not communistic. cold war between us and ussr started right after ww2
