Which option is easier?

I know waiting until I get there is a lot cheaper, but I am not sure how long the line will be since it will be over the holidays... Please help! (Also any tourist advice would be helpful!)

Get it at the airport it is really easy and costs 20 or 30 dollars.

By the way a great tip:
Many don't know that when you get up to the Immigration area where you have your passport stamped to hurry as quickly as you can to your far left. This is where you buy the visa.
It is at a bank-type window.
It will save you tons of time and you won't be in the back of the line.

If you want to speed up your plane exit always put your luggage in the overhead bins in front of your seat and not behind.

Happy traveling I'm leaving Thanksgiving night!

Best is getting a visa ahead. If you intend to get it at the airport when you arrive, be sure you have contacted a tour guide and waiting for you there. At the airport you could just buy a stamp as a visa, but at the immigration desk you will be asked to have your tour guide to pick you up or you will be asked for a letter from the travel agent to ensure your hotel etc have been taken care of. January is a good time to visit Egypt especially Aswan and Luxor.

Yes you will need to obtain a Visa prior to you going to the airport. You don't know what delays you could run into and those delays might make you miss your trip. And make sure the spelling of your name is correct/address/and everything else they request from you. You do not want to have any problems coming back to the USA. Any errors might make people think its fraudilant. good luck and have fun. I hear egypt is awesome.

Yeah...Why do I not think it's a good idea to travel to Egypt without a visa...

I'd check with the US & Egyptian Counselates before stepping on a plane

Get it before hand. If there are any problems, you won't have time to fix it if you wait to the last minute!

If you`re going to Sharm you only need a visa if you intend to dive, they try to bullie you into buying one but their law states "only if diving".
