What makes a motorcycle a bobber? Simply no having no rear shocks?

A bobber refers to a stock motorcycle that has been stripped of parts that aren't essential, this makes the motorcycle handle and accelerate better because of it's reduced weight.

Usually the parts removed are the front fender, signals, speedo, battery and anything else the owner can bolt or saw off.

Bobbers differ from choppers in that the front end stays close to stock instead of being stretched out.

Well, my bike (see 360) is sometimes refered to as a bobber.
Actually, in the old days, a bobber had the 2 piece rear fender with the hinged part removed, longer forks so the floorboards didn't scrape in a turn, and stripped to save weight.

no the rear fender has been cut in half, from fornt to rear and in the old days the front fender was removed

no the harley street bob has rear shocks
it's mainily a solo seat raised handle bars and a low seat height
