get a coat hanger or 2 , put pantyhose over the medal parts to make a shape and cover with feathers.

use rolled wire that is thin. it might be better.

cardboard might hold feathers too.
god luck.

Acually, take some wire hangers and bend them into the shape of wings. cover them with white panty hose and paint them like butterfly wings (or whatever), attach ribbons or long, shredded strips of sparkly, gauze like fabric to the bottom of them or glue feathers to that. Good luck! Check out the newer version of a Mid Summer Nights Dream (michelle pfeiffer version) see if you can find some pics of the fairy wings from the movie online, they look GREAT!

You could basically do the same idea as the bent wire with a pair of pantie hose on it an hot glue the feathers to it. Or just get mesh and place feathers in it. The first one is much eaiser though.

fairy wings did not have feathers ( they aren't birds )

most use a semi-transparent fabric over a wire frame with sparkle type accents or coatings ( gossamer is the look )
