i want to volunteer for an organization on the weekends only.
i would like to help out the needy maybe by passing out food and clothes or fixing houses.
i live in NYC
do you know of any organization that fit this category?

I dont know of any specifically but you can contact the Salvation Army and there are plenty of programs and sister companies they can get you in or at least tell you how to contact them.
