Lots of variables (understatement) in this question! However; the average temp would probably be arround 400 deg. F. give or take a few deg. But when the eng. is under load the temp. rises dramatically. Outside temp. Exhaust restriction; Turbos will even cause the ex. header to glow bright cherry red! Thats why heat sheilds; ceramic coatings; glass wraps arround the header pipes; are used. Theres so much more but hopefully this suffices.

A car exhaust can get as hot as 1200 degrees at the time it gets to the catalyst converter {incinerator} out the tail pipe 200 to250

1500 degrees coming out of the cylinder head and about 200 to 300 degrees at the catalytic convertor.
