Apples and Oranges really - which ever suits you better. The main thing that turned me away from Mac was not the OS itself but the superiority complex which so many Mac users seem to suffer from.

Their latest propaganda campaign certainly hasn't improved my opinion!

As others have said, it really depends on what you're looking for. PCs are cheaper than Macs, and macs aren't very upgradeable, but they do tend to last a while. If you're into gaming, get a PC, because you're going to be hard-pressed to find mac versions. If all you're using your computer for is web browsing, email and word processing, well, then the software issue doesn't matter too much. Macs are, in general, somewhat less susceptible to viruses. (Or you could just use a hardware firewall and good virus protection.) Macs rock for graphics. That's not to say PCs can't do it, but between a Mac and a PC with similar stats, a Mac will own it for graphic work. However, keep in mind that the Mac will probably cost a lot more. Hope this helps!

I own both a Mac PowerBook laptop and many Windows systems. Mac is great and I use it everyday. Not having to deal with viruses are a great thing but people who go own sites that have viruses are the only ones that complain about viruses on PCs. Depends on what you need it for and what you want to do own it. At my college there are both PCs and Macs in the computer labs. See if there are any libraries or computer labs around that have them so you can play around on it before you get one. I own my own computer business and do other things with my Mac all the time. Me personally I would buy a Mac if I plan on doing what Macs are created to do. That is graphics and etc. Another thing is that every once in a while some websites are not all Mac compatiable. So what I have installed on my Mac is Virtual PC 7 that allows me to run Windows on my Mac. So technically I am using Mac right now and if I need to use Windows real quick for something then I click on the program and let it take like 1 minute to load and use it and switch back in like 2 seconds to Mac. Everyone should at least have one Mac in their lifetime for the fun experience. If your a college student such as computer engineering then obviously PC because you have to code with Windows. Hope all of these answers help. If you decide to get a Mac you can say you are a student so you can get a free printer and free iPod with your order.

I'd have to say Mac for sure... especially now that you can load Windows onto it and have the best of both worlds if needed. If you need to play PC games or have some software that you can't find for the Mac, load windows and there you go. And use the Mac to do everything else, it's the best for internet as there are no viruses as of now that will effect the Mac. And it's easy to learn, easier than a windows machine for sure, most people just fear the change. Go play with one somewhere and see how you like it...

More people use PCs, but MACs have a much better operating system. PCs have always sold to the safe crowd, average people just accept whatever MS tells them is good for them. On the other hand MAC OS X is actually BSD Unix and is a good deal more robust than Windows. But the MAC has some quirks, it's time they gave up on their one button mouse, that interfere with usability. I couldn't advise anyone but an enthusiast or an expert to buy a MAC. Now that Apple have gone over to an x86 platform why would I pay their prices when I can buy a much faster generic PC and download Free-BSD for it?

PC then. Sadly.

PC is much better, There is more supported software and downloads associated with PC then with a MAC

However, if you are big in to Graphics, FX, then a mac may be the choice for you,,,,,but then again a pc can do alot of that as well......

If you plan on working with graphics and images, go Mac....it was designed with graphic design in mind. Also runs cleaner than a PC because idiots writing viruses and malicious code haven't progressed to the Mac OS yet....

Well they are both good, however you will find the PC is more compatible since over 90% of users own PC's. I would recommend a PC.

It really depends on several things.
1) What are you going to be doing with it.
2) How much money are you looking at spending
3) Do you currently own a system and software that you want to be using on the new system.
