anyone out there had a near death experience?
i.e they were actually dying/dead and came back.

not just someone who nearly got hit by a bus, train etc but who actually DID get electrocuted, anvil dropped on their head, etc.

did you have any afterlife sort of experience like leaving your body or other spiritual happening?
if so please describe.

if so - do you think you were hallucinating or was it real?

okay im probably going to get a lot of jokes and pis5 takes on this one but its an interesting topic.

Yes in January 2006. Went into Hosp for an Operation, after returning to the ward, apparently I never recovered from anaesthetic, Blood Pressure fell till heart stopped pumping. It seems they contacted my next of kin, shoved a piece of paper under his nose to sign(with a pen not his nose). While I was back in theatre, they re-cut me across stomach, and found lots of internal bleeding, which they managed to stitch up. Throughout all what was happening I state that not once did I see a light, or myself floating up and looking down on my self. When I came around, I thought that it was actually the same day of first op, never knew I had lost over 24 hours in time.

I almost died once, I had been given some medication and went into anaphylactic shock. My airway closed up, my heart rate went through the roof (about 220 beats per minute) and my blood pressure dropped to the floor (40 over 20). I remember floating up to the ceiling and watching the doctors working on me and heard what they were saying when I was unconscious. I don't know if this counts as a NDE but it's the nearest thing I've come to one.

Actually 2 years ago, (I was 16) and I was helping my mom carry an old dryer up the basement steps, and she had no grip on anything what so ever, and her fingers slipped, and it fell on top of me. It fell from nearly the top of the steps. I was in the hospital for 2 monthes, my head busted open, I went into a coma for nearly a week, broke all of my ribbs, and pretty much almost died. If it wasn't for the clothes laying near the bottom of the steps that saved me from busting the back side of my head on the concrete floor, I would be dead right now. THANK YOU LORD FOR EVERYTHING..

Don't know if this fits but 1 year and 11 days ago my family were told I had 3 hours to live and if I did survive I would never walk again. Five months later I was home walking, driving and really appreciating my reprieve. God is great, life is wonderful.

I haven't had an experience, but I work in healthcare and was very close to a boy with MRDD. He actually flatlined on two seperate occasions. I don't know what he saw, but he always talks about his dead relatives (ones he's never met) and how he wants to go 'upstairs'.

I had meningitis as a child and it was so bad I completely stopped breathing. All I remember is this feeling of well being and remember looking round the room and seeing everyone tending to me. I think it was me hallucinating but I guess I will never know.

I had a close shave when choking on a large boiled sweet in an electricity shop, I inhaled it and although concerned that it was an embarrasing way to die I couldn't speak to tell anyone what had happened. I was eventually turned upside down and thrashed until it came out, what a shame it was a waste of my last red one...

Apparently I stopped breathing when I was small and was technically dead for about a minute. I don't remember this myself, maybe too young.
